Why FreeToolz exists

Most online utilities fall into one of two buckets: cluttered, ad-heavy pages that hide the actual tool behind popups and misleading buttons, or slick apps locked behind a paywall for something that ought to be a one-click job. Neither one respects the person just trying to compress a screenshot, format some JSON, or work out a loan EMI.

We built FreeToolz to sit between the two. Every tool is designed and engineered like a paid product — clean interface, sensible defaults, accurate outputs, keyboard-friendly, mobile-friendly — but it costs nothing to use and there is no account to create. The whole platform is supported by unobtrusive display advertising, clearly labelled and placed away from the buttons that matter, so we can keep the tools free forever.

Who we are

FreeToolz is designed, built and maintained by Hashtags Technology, a small product team that ships web software with an obsessive focus on speed and simplicity. We use these tools ourselves every day — that's where most of the feature ideas come from, and it's why we fix things quickly when something feels off.

How we approach quality

Four principles guide every tool on this site:

• Privacy-conscious by default. Wherever the job can be done in the browser, it is done in the browser. Your files, text and calculations stay on your device. Tools that must call a server are clearly labelled.
• Fast, always. No 30-second loading screens, no forced ad interstitials, no "please wait while your file is processed" for something a browser can do in a millisecond.
• Accurate and honest. Calculators and converters show the formulas they use, flag their limitations, and never dress up a rough estimate as professional advice.
• Designed for everyone. Every tool works on a phone, in dark mode, and with a keyboard. Accessibility isn't a feature — it's a baseline.

How FreeToolz stays free

Two things: display advertising (Google AdSense) and a very small operating team. No subscriptions, no "Pro" tier, no locked features. If we ever change that, we'll say so plainly on this page first.
